Alicante golf course is located on the Costa Blanco, 800 metres from the spectacular Playa de San Juan Beach and Mediterranean Sea. It is a 5 minutes drive from the center of Alicante City.
Golf Alicante was designed by Severiano Ballesteros and opened on 23 January 1998. It is a par 72 with 6236 mts in length from the white tees. The course has six Par-3, six Par-4 and six Par-5s and five large lakes that affect 12 of the 18 holes. The course is an attractive challenge for all levels of golfers
The course design means that you never play two consecutive holes with the same par.

Golf course design
The course has wide fairways which are planted with thousands of trees and flora. Care has been taken to ensure the environment is protected which has been honored by being one of the first courses in Europe to win the most prestigious environmental quality certificates: SO-14001 and Q-Plus. The fairways are designed with slight humps and hollows and sixty bunkers, filled with fine white sand, are spread strategically around the course.
Another interesting aspect of the course is the 14th hole where you have to drive over the ruins of a Roman villa dating from the first century BC to reach the green. The ruins were discovered during the construction of the course
Course record
The course record was set at 62 strokes by the great Pepín Rivero, a member of the European Ryder Cup champions team in 1985 and 1987
Club house and facilities
The club house includes changing rooms with sauna, gymnasium, Pro shop & reception, a clubroom, golf bag lockers and hire service for buggies, club hire and other sports material.
The facilities also has a leisure area for watching TV with restaurants, pubs and cafeterias
Practice areas
At the center of this top-level professional championship course is a very comprehensive practice area, strategically placed near the first hole. Its reversible surface of natural grass is complemented by a larger area for practicing your short game with a bunker, putting and chipping greens.
