It is an 18 holes par 72 desert style golf course with a length of 6,498 metres from the white tees. The course layout features few bunkers and a large central lake that influences play on several holes.

Saurines golf course was formerly know as Terrazas de la Torre. The course is now operated by UGOLf who also operate Mar Menor and Hacienda del Alamo golf courses, all part of the Jack Nicklaus Golf Trail. The course design is similar to the famous American desert courses of Las Vegas and Arizona.

The courses main characteristics are undulating fairways and greens, desert dunes, deep bunkers and a great 6 hectare lake that comes into play on both the 9th and the 18th holes. The 18th hole is a par 3 with the lake on the right and a sharp gully running across the green. This presents further opportunities to ruin a good round and guarantees an exciting finish.

Jack Nicklaus Golf Trail

Jack Nicklaus Golf Trail is made up by six golf courses located in the Murcia region of Spain. They were all designed by Jack Nicklaus and built to the highest quality and design standards. These courses include; Mar Menor, La Torre, Saurines, Riquelme, El Valle and Alhama. The completion of these courses, turned this region of Spain, into one of the most important and popular golf destinations in Europe.

Clever green design

The course has very interesting large sloping greens which will require accuracy shotmaking for a good scorecard. The clever design and undulation of the greens, can cause problems to even an expert golfer. The simplest looking approach shot can catch you out as a poor chip can leave a very interesting putt!

Clubhouse and Golf Academy

The golf academy is run by Thomas Johansson who has more than 20 years coaching experience. Lessons can be booked at the pro shop and can be delivered in Swedish, English and Spanish.

The Saurines course has a basic clubhouse which offers casual dining with part-views over the golf course. The Pro shop sells golf equipment and offers a rental services for clubs, buggies and push and electric trolleys.

Saurines golf course is located in the Las Terrazas de la Torre Golf Resort residential. You will find restaurants, bars and cafes in the nearby resort which some golfers use for post-round meals, drinks and socialising.

Basic practice areas

A relatively basic driving range forms part of Saurines Golf facilities, along with a putting green and short-game practice areas, for chipping and short shot practice.
